This is an overview of someone who grew up as the jack of all trades. To not be a perfectionist, but to ponder what perfect work looks like.
From working in a 150 degree Fahrenheit attic, to sitting all cozy working at home, I've learned that perserverance and determination are what will make or break you in that moment.
- Technical Creative Cloud Proficiency
Extreme knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications. The cloud was first brought to my attention in 2016 while in high school. It opened my eyes to the possibilities of digital design and editing. I've since become a certified professional in every aspect Adobe has to offer.
- Understanding of Design Principles
Understanding the fundamental principles of design is crucial for creating effective and visually appealing work. Studying these principles has helped me create work that not only looks good but also communicates its message effectively.
- Production Process Execution
Worked on a ton of student films. Pre, post, and during production. Whether it's freelance work for friends or clients, I've always been passionate and extremely flexible about the process.
- Flexible Problem-Solving
Thinking outside the box and finding creative solutions to complex problems is a must for any creative professional as well as in HVACR. I've applied this in an edit timeline, so I think I've got it covered.... in the crawlspace with rats. :)
- Knowledge of Industry Standards
Throughout my childhood into adulthood I've been in many industries. Passionate about learning the fundamentals of each and every job I wish I never had, still passionate.
- Strong Communication Skills
Having the ability to lead, and be led by others is a key part of any successful team. To understand and work with people is an essential skill.
- Willingness to Improve
Proven over time with consistent effort and dedication. You'll notice a key discrepancy within my work, I'm always looking for ways to improve and grow.
ps: This website is a prime example of another skill improved and acquired. I've always had a habit of continuously learning and improving my skills anywhere in life. All in all, I've improvised and adapted to new technologies and trends. Like I said, I'm passionate about looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow as we all should. Plus all the work showcased is pre AI boom. But I utilize it now. Like I think we all should.
- 2001-2010
Born and raised in Pleasure Island, North Carolina. When times were simple, right?
- 2011-2020
Interested in the world of technology and creativity. Also hit by hurricanes around this time (2018-2020). Florence in 2018 allowed me to get hands-on experience in trades, specifically in fire and mold restoration at the time.
- 2021-Today
HVACR installer post 2019. Looking for professional opportunities to grow and learn in the field of technology and creativity, specifically in video editing and graphic design. Please no more HVACR installs.
ps: not an iPad/TikTok baby. I grew up with an Xbox though.
- Eugene Ashley High School
Nobody is putting their high school, right? Mine had a credited Adobe Creative Cloud program though.
- Cape Fear Community College
I almost got an Associates of Science degree in Film and Video Production Technologies. I was on the Dean's List for most of my time there. I have around 15 credits left, and I'll finish it eventually. But for now I already have the foundation
to work in the field and to truly gain a solid understanding of the industry I feel working is upmost important before a piece of paper. Pretty much exactly what my professor said to me.
ps: 12 years of completely self-taught knowledge and 3 actual years of formal education on the Dean's List in said topic is so-so, right? Well good thing I'm only getting started.
- What I Bring
Editing instincts, design taste, production experience, job-site patience, and a willingness to keep learning until the final result makes sense.
- How I Grew Up
I grew up in a household where creativity was encouraged and technology was always at the forefront. My early exposure to video editing and graphic design sparked a passion that has only grown stronger over time.
- Creative Direction
I like projects where technical execution and personality can exist together. The work can be useful, polished, and still feel like a real person made it.
ps: I know my goal is simple: keep getting better, keep making the work cleaner; more efficient, and to keep building things that matter. Whether I'm in HVACR or in my headphones and computer chair I know the objective is to be better than yesterday.
